In SAS Management Console,
you can stop or quiesce OLAP servers to rebuild cubes, change OLAP
schemas, or change server properties. When you stop an OLAP server,
any active queries are immediately terminated. When you quiesce an
OLAP server, the server accepts no new queries and terminates after
the completion of the last active query.
Note: Stopping or pausing a SAS
OLAP Server does not necessarily prevent access to a particular cube,
because other servers might share the same OLAP schema. To update
a cube without taking it off-line, you should disable the cube rather
than stopping or pausing the server.
To stop, quiesce, pause,
or resume a SAS OLAP server, right-click the server instance in the
Server Manager and select the server from the pop-up menu, or right-click
the logical OLAP server in the SAS OLAP Server Monitor.
