The XML engine enables
you to export XML documents from SAS data sets and to restore XML
documents as SAS data sets. XML documents can be transported across
operating environments and read using the XML engine with the DATA
step or PROC COPY.
Here is
the process for creating an XML document at the source computer and
reading it on a target computer:

An XML
document is created at the source computer using the XML engine with
the DATA step or PROC COPY.

The file
is transferred from the source computer to the target computer.

The XML
document is read at the target computer using the XML engine with
the DATA step or PROC COPY.
