The SLICE statement provides a general mechanism for performing a partitioned analysis of the LS-means for an interaction. This analysis is also known as an analysis of simple effects (Winer, 1971).
The SLICE statement uses most of the options of the LSMEANS statement that are summarized in Table 44.8. The options SLICEDIFF= , SLICEDIFFTYPE= , and ODDS do not apply to the SLICE statement; in the SLICE statement, the relevant options for SLICEDIFF= and SLICEDIFFTYPE= are the SLICEBY= and the DIFF= options, respectively.
